Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Simulation, the Simulation Educator collaborates with faculty, staff, and learners to provide support, instruction and debriefing for programs which include (but not limited to) nursing, respiratory therapy, and physical therapy. The person in this role will guide the preparation, use and maintenance of audiovisual equipment, computers, and various simulators: newborn, pediatric, adult, task trainers, mid-fidelity, and high-fidelity manikins. This full-time exempt position is grant-funded until September 1, 2025.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a master's degree in nursing or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years full time or equivalent experience as a registered nurse within the immediate past five (5) years.
  • Evidence of clinical competence appropriate to teaching responsibilities. Experience in healthcare simulation preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) from INACSL.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete projects by established deadlines.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying objects 50 pounds or less; sitting for periods at times.
  • Standard medical equipment knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology and ability to communicate in those terms.
  • Computer software, hardware, network, and audio-video experience preferred.
