Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating all quality activities for the plant. This includes but is not limited to partnering with the production teams to ensure the product is manufactured in a clean and safe environment while following all standard food safety and GMP protocols for food production.

Essential Functions:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Approves and validates qualified processes and cleaning procedures

* Develops quality training sessions and quality working instructions

* Certifies employees related on quality requirements for workstation

* Defines hygiene guidelines

* Trains GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)

* Manages regulatory issues locally or, depending on the case, escalate regulation-related problems to Zone management

* Defines and coordinates factory control plan and HACCP

* Manages the Quality Control lab and certifies the lab employees

* Manages alerts and non-conformities and monitors action plans with Groupe

* Validates product flows (finished products, raw material and waste), staff and equipment

* Responsible for locally adapting Groupe Quality and Regulations policies

* Develops and implements reporting requirements

* Manages the FSSC 22000 certification

* Acts as support for all ISO certifications including 14001/18001/45001

* Manages the development of the alert, risk and crisis management systems

* Manages, if necessary and in co-ordination with the Groupe, local crises and contacts with administrations

* Coordinates local monitoring

* Works with the DQRZ coordinates and implements improvement plans as related to consumer complaints and issues

* Partners with Corporate (DQRZ), and the other CQTE (Plant Quality Coordinator) and DQRG for all Quality and Regulations relating to the plant

* Partners with other departments that are directly involved in obtaining product and process quality (development, DRAG, IDAs, purchasing, sub-contracting, supply Chain, engineering, marketing, etc.)

* Maintains external contacts with suppliers, sub-contractors, certification boards and regulatory officials

* Manages budgets and schedules

* Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy

* Follows all Safety rules & procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others

* Follows all food safety procedures

* Follows all environmental protocols as applicable

* Follows all sanitation procedures and work instructions

* Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field Preferred

* Minimum of 5 years' experience in key leadership role at a food manufacturing facility, refrigerated goods preferred, dairy goods manufacturing a plus

* Demonstrated working knowledge of food microbiology and Food Safety

* Demonstrated knowledge of audit methods and quality improvement tools, audit certifications preferred

* HACCP Training/experience preferred

* Strong knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

* Best in class customer service skills

Work Environment:

Work is performed in an office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average a minimum of 40 hours a week. There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other plant activities. Some travel may be required domestic and international. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in the plant as required.

Protective Equipment:

When in the plant, employees must wear personal protective equipment, as required, which could include an assigned work uniform, hair and beard net, safety glasses, designated shoes, and ear protection.
