POSITION SUMMARY:

Gravel/Heavy Haul Driver is a safety sensitive position and must be able to safely operate semi-trucks to transport various aggregates and oversized equipment to remote locations across the states of ND/SD/MT/WY. Drivers may be required to haul/operate a backhoe for gravel prospecting operations during the off-season. Drivers are responsible for maintaining their equipment and performing assigned duties as efficiently as possible. Overnight travel may be required. This is a full time, hourly, non-exempt position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete routine maintenance checks on trucks
  • Operate truck efficiently
  • Hook, unhook trailer
  • Change tires
  • Maintain brake and air lines
  • Pre-trip, post-trip inspections
  • Ability to transport oversized loads
  • Willing to operate any vehicle assigned
  • Operate heavy equipment (loaders) for loading/unloading purposes
  • Maintain accurate E-logs and timecards
  • Ability to use Apple products for delivery directions (Google pin drops)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with all endorsements (HazMat & Tanker preferred but not required)
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings including DOT physical, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Report
  • Should have mechanical skills to perform maintenance on equipment
  • Compliance with MSHA regulations
  • Two years of tractor/trailer driving experience preferred, but not required
  • Good attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills (Email, Smart Phone, Excel)
