Job Summary

Provide supervision,assignment of duties, including duties not directly assigned, and performance consultation to Child Care Aides and Child Care Assistants.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Contributes to the overall quality early childhood programming by promoting a positive developmentally appropriate practice and ensuring an overall safe and secure environment for children, staff and visitors.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of Rapid City Children's Center and its structures and practices. Understands or demonstrates understanding of current situations, trends and issues within our department, RCH and industry.
  • Responsible for human resource management within the department to achieve quality services and positive employee relations.
  • Utilizes knowledge gained through training and takes precautionary measures in order to provide for the safety of the children, parents, and other program participants.
  • Integrates positive guidance techniques on a regular basis, such as communicating expectations, giving children realistic choices, and redirecting inappropriate behaviors.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Certification - Child Development Associate (CDA) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals

Preferred:
Experience - 3+ years of Early Childhood Experience; 3+ years of Supervisor Experience
Education - Some College (1-2 years) in Child Studies/Education

Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
