Job Summary

The Provider Professional Practice Director partners with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer to provide clinical practice leadership and facilitates professional development, training and clinical practice guidance for advanced practice providers (advanced practice nurses and physician assistants) across the system. This role will serve as a resource for interdisciplinary teams within Monument Health related to advanced practice provider practice.

This leader will support advanced practice provider clinical and professional development and act as a coach to colleagues. S/he will be an important and contributing member to medical policy reviews, peer reviews, operational planning, and be active in the onboarding and professional development process for advanced practice providers.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic and engaged leader with a passion for the delivery of high quality care efficiently and effectively. This will be an innovative leader with an interest in national best practices and the ability to design and implement new methodologies. Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Act as a resource, mentor, coach, and consultant to advanced practice providers, leaders, councils, and performance improvement teams for multidisciplinary teams.
  • Intervene to improve practice processes and dynamics in order to achieve outcomes.
  • Act as a change agent. Facilitate change and transition efforts using change management principles/tools. Ensure project outcomes are appropriately aligned with the system's mission and strategic plan.
  • Act as liaison to academic partners and provide oversight to advanced practice provider educational programs.
  • Coordinate a competency-based assessment process for new and existing providers.
  • Facilitate an effective new hire onboarding process for advanced practice providers.
  • Evaluate and revise annually the competency program components to ensure care standards and regulatory requirements are current within the assessment process.
  • Supports advanced practice provider continuous medical education activities and events.
  • Facilitates advanced practice provider recognition efforts.
  • Develop operational plans that support organizational strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and promote a culture that supports the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Support the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of advanced practice provider focused programs and projects in accordance with JCAHO Standards, Magnet Standards, Pathways criteria, policies/procedures, evidence-based practice, ANA scope and standards of practice, and other professional standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
  • Currently practicing clinician
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Advanced degree and license to practice as an advanced practice nurse (CRNA, NNP, NP) or physician assistant (PA)

Preferred:
  • Coursework in management or a business degree
  • Prior operational and supervisory experience
