With regards to select suppliers, the Sourcing Agent owns the cost of purchased components, manages the commercial relationship with those suppliers, sources new components (sometimes under compressed timeframes), supports quality and delivery issues, negotiates price changes, relentlessly pursues savings projects, and supports corporate commodity management initiatives. The Sourcing Agent has accountability for managing, setting, and executing a supply strategy for specific suppliers. The Sourcing Agent will be an integral part of transforming the supply chain and developing an industry leading cost structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage select suppliers to ensure compliance with corporate commercial terms and brand requirements including on-time delivery, pricing, systemic quality issues, cost competitiveness, etc.
  • Drive dedicated efforts to identify and implement significant cost reduction opportunities through data driven analysis, sourcing events, supplier rationalization and consolidation, bulk buy initiatives, payment term negotiation, and other supplier negotiation/resourcing initiatives
  • Investigate/audit select suppliers to determine business opportunity strategies (supply base consolidation, leveraging, etc.)
  • Assist Corporate Commodity Manager to coordinate data gathering and project implementation activities at business unit level
  • Work w/ Design & Engineering during new product development to determine and implement SKU consolidation opportunities
  • Develop execution plans to implement key strategies as identified and defined by corporate commodity management
  • Assist Materials Management with price change negotiations with the supply base including engineering revisions, price increase requests, volume changes, etc.
  • Responsible for new supplier identification and supplier development activities consistent with corporate commodity strategies
  • Lead the implementation of new strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure benefits are fully realized
  • Leverage raw material price reductions across select suppliers as identified by corporate commodity management

Qualifications:

  • BS degree Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent field of study
  • Prior work experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management with focus on strategic sourcing, supplier development, and/or cost reduction

Desired Skills:

  • Project Management with ability to manage multiple action items and changing priorities effectively
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Power Point
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well within a cross-functional team
  • Purchasing, sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, or quality control experience
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and key cost drivers
  • Ability to read & understand prints and technical specifications
