POSITION SUMMARY:

The position of Janitor I is responsible for custodial upkeep of the facility and production equipment. This includes but is not limited to: cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy, and empties trash receptacles. This individual will also support nVent goals in any way that management requests with a positive attitude and be willing to flex daily responsibilities as needed.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces.

  • Clean and disinfect equipment.

  • Vacuum rugs/ mats.

  • Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.

  • Mix various cleaning agents.

  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

  • Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.

  • Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.

  • Move heavy equipment and furniture.

  • Powerboss Floor sweeping and mopping.

  • Identify and report possible repairs.

  • Shovel snow from sidewalks and sprinkle salt on surface.

  • Ability to operate trash compactor

  • Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a High School education or equivalent.

  • Basic reading and writing skills

  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision

  • Capacity to take direction

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary
