Senior Accountant Overview

You will work directly with the chief financial officer, chief accounting officer and senior staff to master the skills necessary to manage all significant aspects of the finance and accounting function. You will gain experience in financial analytics for an understanding of the organization which will empower you to work directly with senior management throughout the organization. This will include financial reporting, regulatory SEC reporting, monthly financial statement analysis and other key functions.

We are searching for a motivated candidate, preferably with a disciplined approach to the financial function gained with two or more years of public accounting experience. Essential Functions

  1. Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements for internal financial reporting.
  2. Performs analysis of financial variances and communicates related insights to management.
  3. Assists in the development and preparation of SEC quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  4. Manages the accounting process, budgets and other analyses to support management.
  5. Creates and develops new reports to address management requests for financial information.
  6. Manages and completes special accounting projects.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or a related combination of training and experience.
  • Four years accounting or financial reporting experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Financial institution experience is a plus.
  • Motivated to grow and advance.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in spreadsheet and graphical programs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment with the ability to dive into issues with data to discover root causes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
