Job Description: | JOB PURPOSE: Work closely with other Human Resource team members in the development, implementation, and administration of all Human Resources programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Coordinate and assists in the completion of annual compliance and benefits activities including but not limited to benefit open enrollment, non-discrimination testing, Affirmative Action Plans, audits, and 5500 forms. * Participate in the management of leaves under the FMLA including pre-leave communications, leave reporting and metrics, employee and manager communications, and return to work. * Assists in the development and administration of compensation programs. * Utilize available technology to prepare HR reporting and metrics. * Participate in the development and implementation of all Human Resource policies and programs. Areas of responsibility may include: compensation, benefit administration, performance evaluation and management, employee communications, career pathing, and other major areas within the scope of HR. * Manage Midcontinent's benefit plan reconciliation and enrollment audits. * Provide a full range of Human Resources services to supervisors and employees. * Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, and company policies. * Promote, support, communicate, and enforce Midcontinent's policies. Recommends new/revised policies and practices. * Process all HR transactions timely and accurately. Set personal objectives to ensure objectives and deadlines are met. * Ensure compliance with government regulations such as FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, FLSA, EEO, ADA, FCC, Title VII, and all other federal, state and local laws and programs. * Possess a working knowledge of the Human Resource field, including best practices, compliance, & industry standards. * Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers. * Adhere to Midcontinent Communications privacy guidelines to ensure each customer's privacy. * Maintain regular attendance and to arrive to work on time as required by your position. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Communicate with other departments to handle any escalating issues in a timely manner. * Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and concepts of other departments. * Support the mission, vision, and values of Midcontinent Communications. * Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility. * Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects. * Possess strong problem solving and decision making skills while using good judgment. * Multi-task and change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. * Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management. * Identify opportunities for improvement while creating and implementing viable solutions * All employees are required to actively follow Midcontinent policies and procedures. * Perform other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study required. * 3+ years experience as a Human Resources Generalist required. * Demonstrated experience working with multiple HR functions. * Working knowledge of governing laws and regulations. * Experience with reporting and metrics. Additional Information: | The Human Resources Generalist provides a full range of Human Resources services for managers and employees, and assists with development and implementation of all Human Resources services. This position will have a strong focus on compensation and reporting. The HR Generalist works closely with other Human Resources team members in the administration of all Human Resource policies and programs.
